Professionally trained counselling staff work with an individual, couple, family or group to develop individualized strategies and solutions to address their concerns. Sessions are available in a number of languages, as well as via interpreter.
We are committed to supporting you in bringing about positive changes in your life. Your active participation in the counselling process will achieve the changes that you seek. Your appointment time is specifically set by you and your counsellor based upon your needs and schedule availability. Preferred times may not always be available but we will do our best to accommodate your needs and responsibilities.

Individuals, Couples and Families Counselling
A wide array of interventions and support are available in this program to individuals, couples, families and groups, with the focus on helping people to manage life and everyday issues. Counselling staff work with their clients to develop personalized strategies and solutions that help to promote hope and wellness in the client, their family and the community at large.
Areas of counselling include:
- Couple conflict
- Difficulties resulting from early childhood abuse (physical, emotional or sexual)
- Eating disorders
- Financial difficulty
- Job loss
- Parenting issues
- Sleeping disorders
Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transsexual/Transgender Questioning (LGBTTQ) Program
In this program, counselling is provided to individuals questioning their sexual identity, “coming out”, family members seeking information on how to support a gay family member and teenagers experiencing interpersonal challenges. We also provide educational workshops on gay issues to community partners and run ongoing groups.
The Generations group is an opportunity for LGBTQ individuals to build interpersonal relationships, create networks for mutual support, discuss challenges related to LGBTQ issues and share empowering life stories. For specific group dates please call our Intake Department at 905-453-5775.

Support Services for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse
Services (in both official languages) within this new FREE program, funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General, include individual counselling, group counselling, e-counselling and phone counselling for men over the age of 16 who have experienced historical or recent sexual abuse.

To access this service, you must be registered in the Support Services for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse
program. If you are not a client then please call our Toll-Free Intake number at 1-855-505-5205
for the enrolment process.
The Intake Department will guide you through the process of registering online for the e-counselling service.
Family Services of Peel also provides a Closed Group
to male survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This therapeutic group offers participants an opportunity to manage feelings of anger, build support and resilience, reconnect and move out of social isolation, reframe relationships and intimacy and learn to move forward after trauma through Self-Care. Walk-In Counselling Service
This FREE, private and confidential counselling service is available without having to book an appointment. Meet with our professional and qualified multicultural staff for support, advocacy and referrals to other available services. Immediate Interventions and support are provided to individuals, couples and families who are:
- Experiencing a crisis
- Requiring immediate support
- Looking to connect with a service provider
- Seeking information about specific services in the community
- Requiring advocacy and referrals
